In this fast-paced world where so many of us are living in a small apartment with very little outdoor personal space available to us, figuring out a way to grow can be a challenge. Fortunately, microgreens provide a solution that is both space-efficient and cost-effective. One option is to use grow lights and trays. grow lights are relatively inexpensive and can be placed on a windowsill or hung from the ceiling. Alternatively, led grow lights are more expensive but offer significant cost savings in the long run. Another option is just trays. Trays can be placed on a table or shelf and do not require a grow lights. However, they may not provide as much yield as grow lights. Ultimately, the best option depends on the space available and the budget. With a little creativity, anyone can find a way to grow microgreens in a small space. I found this product that solves the space issue while still looking attractive.
As time has progressed and now all of the microgreens are grown outside, utilizing a four-shelf wire rack has been very helpful.
I use the trays that I shared in my earlier posts. I can fit up to 12 trays 3 per shelf.
I also grow mature plants using hydroponics. Hydroponic growing is a method of growing plants in a solution of water and nutrients, without the use of soil. This type of growing is often seen as complex and difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. hydroponic systems can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be, making them a great option for both beginner and experienced gardeners alike. hydroponic systems are also ideal for growing mature plants, as they provide a steady supply of nutrients and water. If you’re looking to get started with hydroponic growing, there are a few things you need to know. First, you’ll need to choose the right hydroponic system for your needs. There are many different types of hydroponic systems on the market, so it’s important to do some research before making a purchase. Once you’ve chosen a system, you’ll need to set it up and maintain it properly. With a little patience and practice, hydroponic growing can be easy and fun. Typically I grow leafy greens and herbs using this method. By adding Ocean Solution to the water, which is the same Ocean Solution used with the microgreens, has created a good yield in a little less time. Due to space constraints, the simple system I use is this one.
There are a lot more elaborate systems out there. This system has been very easy and takes up very little space. A hydroponic setup like this can be put on a balcony, in a well-lit corner of a room. It really can go anywhere you would like to grow. As the plants start growing and filling up the space, it is very attractive in any living space.
Stay healthy and keep on growing !
