How to Pick Your First Microgreens

Picking your first microgreens can seem like a daunting task, but with a little knowledge, it can be easy and enjoyable. One important factor to consider is the length of time it takes for the microgreens to grow from seed to harvest. If you are looking for a quick crop, then you will want to choose a variety that has a short grow time. Another important factor to consider is the nutritional value of microgreens. Some varieties are more nutrient-dense than others, so if you are looking for a nutritional powerhouse, then you will want to choose one of these varieties. Finally, you will also want to consider how attractive microgreens are. Some people prefer microgreens that are visually stunning, while others prefer those that have a more understated appearance. Whichever type you choose, make sure that it is one that you will enjoy growing.

Microgreens are an essential part of my diet. Not only are they packed with nutrients, but they also help to fight cancer. Broccoli microgreens are one of the most powerful cancer fighters you can consume, and I always have a crop in progress. While other crops of microgreens are ready to harvest in 5 days or less, broccoli microgreens are just getting started. It’s just too important of a microgreen to go without.

The three microgreens I always recommend because they grow so fast are sunflower sprouts, radish (virtually any variety), and speckled peas. Especially if I am trying to encourage young people to get involved. they grow very fast and have a magnificent nutritional profile.
